Our software company is Web-enabling our primary product, which is currently Windows-based and coded in VisC++. We are making a tool decision right now: ASP or Citrix MetaFrame. Citrix seems like it would speed the development process tremendouslyby allowing us make our Windows-based available right away to our users over the Internet. Our concerns are (1) Citrix is not the standard now for Web-Based Apps, (2) We don’t know what the implications would be for future integration of our product with other Web-Based Apps sitting on Web Servers and (3) We don’t know what the performance difference would be. Anyone else have thoughts? If Citrix is so great, why are most people still taking the time to rewrite Windows Apps for Web Servers?
