Clean a computer from malware, virus or other badware

I was looking trough the forums and saw five tips for removing viruses, spyware from client computers. This is a silly add for an on line for a on line software company.
A good trend for a new computer user would be to buy a good anti virus software or down load a good free one like Avast. Then to add a free firewall like Zone alarm. Next would be a computer cleaner like CCleaner to remove any links and cookies that may lead them to malware sites.
A good idea is to remove any restore point because it could alow the malware to reinstall.
