Conditional Formating in Pivot Tables Excel 2010

This is my first post so fingers crossed.
I am having trouble with conditional formating in excel 2010 pivot tables. I am showing monthly complaint data with columns representing each month. I want to conditionally format the cells based on whether the values they contain are higher or lower than the average for the sum of all months for that particular product (row).
Any ideas please?
