Connect two win 98 using dial up net???

Hi,
I have two PC, win 98 on both, two phone line, two modems.
i want to connect two win 98 pc through regular PSTN – Dial up connection.
How can i able to connect both?
i have allready done the following:
on one pc, In dial up networking in connection manu i set dial-up server ON & allow permission to “The world”,
so now it receives call, ok?, i have also check for both server types viz. “ppp:win nt, win 98…”
& “Default”, but fail…
now i m dialling from another pc, both modems got connected but at the time of authenti cation it wait for a long time & then disconnected.
I also set static IP, DNS & Wins ip on the client pc from where i m dialling.
