Control Key Problem

My control key keeps opening a new ‘Windows Internet Explorer’ window everytime I try to make a selection. Example: I need to pick 3 cities out of eight, so I can’t use shift key, because they’re not in a row. Microsoft customer service sends me to Tech support and Tech support tells me to contact customer service. I’m just hoping someone can help me, please. Sharon
