Copying files FROM Win 10 to Win XP

I wish to copy files associated with Borland Paradox 9 currently running on Win 10 to Paradox 9 running on Win XP mounted in Vbox in turn running on Mac OS 10,10. I get a file reading error suggesting that the Win 10 file format is incompatible.
