Is there a utility other than scandisk that can repair a corrupted directory?
It is a Windows 98′ machine, and from what I can tell, the label of the partition was lost and the windows\system directory was corrupted. I fixed the label issue withthe “label” command and that seemed to work. All the other data on the drive appears to be OK. (even in directories below system) I just cannot perform any functions on the system directory itself.
Scandisk just seems to hang. File copies to the directory fail. And trying to list the contents of the directory fails..
Thanks,
Todd
