Creating a Search Engine

I have created a page consisting primarily of html. I want to install a search engine in my page that can search through a series oh html pages that are connected through a series of links. Where can I get that kind of search engine from and how can I add the code to my web page? Is this search engine going to require serious changes across the spectrum for my pages or can I just place the code in the central location or main page of my pages. The page is basically structured with a toolbarand content side. Is there any way I can just take the code from some one else’s search engine and place it in my page without having to learn something more complicated than html like javascript or perl.
