I think that my situation with EFS is a little unique. I was in the military, and when I left this month, I needed to de-militarize my computer?in doing so, I became the administrator of my computer (as opposed to having the administrator be someone/some computer in charge of all the computers in the military network). I had encrypted files on my computer before de-militarizing it and did not think accessing them would be a problem since I was going to be the administrator. However, when I changed to the administrator, I lost access to all these files. I tried to simply decrypt them, and it said that access was denied and there was an ?error code 5? (I couldn?t find out what this error code is) I scanned my computer, and I have no Recovery Agent present in my system. The key is there (I think), but it is encrypted as well. I have tried numerous programs to recover or decrypt these files, and haven?t had any luck so far. Is there any hope of me getting these files back? i am willing to try just about anything at this point. Is there anyone who has any more suggestions on what I should do? If I can?t figure out something soon, I am probably just going to have to clear my hard drive (and that is something I really don?t want to do?). Thanks.
