DFS and Netapp filer

by gurnamsingh009 . Updated 13 years, 5 months ago

Using windows 2003 I am trying to implement dfs, linking it to a share on a netapp filer.

I ahve created a link and am trying to replicate it to another server. When setting up replication I get a message (in the replication wizard) that dfs is not installed on the target. This is true as the target is a netapp filer running ontap O/S.

I could potentially map the netapp filer from a server and then use the server as an access point for the share. However, in this case it means the users will need to access the share via the server (relying on the server being up) OR via \\netappfiler\sharename rather than via the dfs published share
