Had my network up and running. Was moving a large file across the net when the entire net work went out. When I tried to access the network the network path could not be found. Internet explorer 6 could no longer access the internet nor would outlook express.
Checked all the settings all was fine. Called the isp the router was still connected and logged in. ran several virus software programs all but ms adware came up empty the ms adware found a toolbar program I removed it and ms adware asked if I wanted to reset the network defalt settings back to defalt I said yes. The network explorer and outlook all came back up ?alls well? tried to access the network and the whole thing went down again. Went to other computers on the network and none of them will access.
Something has changed my dhcp or dns settings or some other default in explorer or the dhcp system.
I tried reinstalling the network card drivers, setting the ip to a static ip changing the workgroup and reinstalling IE6 to no avail.
Ideas?
Note the network is set to workgroup connections with auto dhcp there is no one computer set up as the master as not all of them are used all the time.
