DHCP not assigning address on 2nd comp.

I am trying to connect with a second XP computer to a home network. I am using an airlink wireless router and it works fine on the main computer but the second computer seems to always get an IP address of 169.254.x.x, which is incorrect. I realize that it is also the default configuration when server cant be reached. Any help?
