dns question

by dane . Updated 25 years, 10 months ago

I have a dns server installed on my windows 2000 server computer. This server is setup to have a small webpage, and a shoutcast MP3 server. I sometimes surf around on it, and wanted to know what should I put for my tcp/ip settings? I wanted to put 127.0.0.1 for the dns server, but get this error:

Ip addresses starting with 127 are not valid because they are reserved for loopback addresses. Please specify some other value between 1 and 223.

What can I do? I use earthlink for dialup access.

I want to use my own dns server, because I noticed about a 30-45 second difference for a request.

What can I do?

Thanx.
