DNS with Remote Location DC

by claywilson . Updated 21 years, 1 month ago

I have a remote location with a domain controller in it. I have setup two windows 2000 RRAS vpn routers, one in remote local and one in main local. I open DNS snapin in the main location and click on the server that is in the remote location and it says: “Cannot contact the DNS server” and this is the same message I get if I try the same thing from the server in the remote location. I cannot figure out how to get this working..I have tried everything. From the remote location I can connect via UNC path to the main locals domain controller. So I know the vpn connection is good and working fine. I just cannto figure out how to get the servers to see each other in the DNS snapin. Please help me, Im so frustrated.

I have tried all the dns setting stuff like dynamic updates and records etc..
