I have an Spreadsheet that contains pivot tables and the document is secured via IRM. The rights management that have been applied to the spreadsheet allows it to be sent to an email recipient who then should not be able to send it out of the organization or to any other internal recipient. I have now been lead to believe that you loose the security and the document is then able to exit the organization via email or be sent to an un authorized internal recipient. The explanation give is that to enable pivot table functionality in Excel you effectively enable teh doument to be saved as someting else and are then able to send it to the un authorized recipient.
So finally my question: Does IRM take affect on Excel pivot table enabled documents? If not What would a possible solution be for such a scenario? Maybe a DLP product like WEBSENS?
