Does frequent formatting decrease the life of HDD ?

Dear sir,
With due respect, my question is : If I format the HDD ( IDE, SCSI & FIBRE CHANNEL )frequently for any issue ( copying not done,My computer in not opening,Internet Explorer not opening,registry not opening,sys. heavily affected by viruses etc.)
