Domain Logon

I am having some problems with domain logons, when I change the permissions. ( to install software fir example ) then I re-logon as that user, the changes dont take affect. Its as if the logon info is cached. Is there anyway to force the workstation to get logon info on the server?

And if this is not the case, any ideas? The server is Win2000
