OS: NT 4.0 ( sp 5)
Server: Dell 2300 ( RAID 5 – 256MB RAM )
I have a foxpro 2.5 for Dos program that runs a nightly process on the NT server. For the last couple of days the process works extremely slowly. Previously it ran perfectly within an hour (now it takes up 8 hours and disrupts all other processes) . There have been no changes to the database or the system during this time.
The same process running on a win95 machine runs really fast. I thought it could be the NTDVM settings so I changed a few of those but no luck. I also changed the program properties (previously pif files) with different settings but still the whole process is really slow.
Is there any other setting within NT that needs to be changed so that this program can run more efficiently?
pls advise
