Recently My Windows 98 Second Edition is displaying an additional Floppy Disk Drive as drive D:, moving a zip drive and CD-ROM up a drive letter, throwing off my drive mappings. If I delete the floppy disk controller from Device Manager and reboot, the drives return to their normal position — until I reboot again, then the phantom drive returns. I installed a 2nd floppy drive in the hopes that the phantom drive would become B:, but now I have 3 floppy drives. Any help would be appreciated.
