My Exchange server (5.0) running on NT4.0 with service pack 4, has suddenly started using excess CPU usage. On going to the task manager, there was a process TKUPD32.exe that was taking up some 45% of CPU usage. I terminated it, but there is still areflection of 10% to 5 fluctuating in the performance indicator. The process shows that idle system is the only process taking up99% of CPU time. What cn be the problem here. I do not know what the TKUPD32.exe was. THis morning I had a message that the dynamic link library user32.dll could not be initialized and was stopping initialization.This gradually started to freeze the server, I eventually rebooted it and it was fine , but for the CPU usage %.
