Ok so here?s the scoop:
A user logs into their Outlook at home (connected to the office via HTTPS) and finds an email that did not get delivered to their Outlook in the office
(two separate PC’s, Outlook 2007 on both)
I grab a copy of the email and go through the header info and try and trace the email.
The Message ID is not found in ANY of the email logs and could not be found with Message Tracking.
Other emails from this address arrived that day to others users and those are all displayed in the logs just not this one.
I have the copy of the email, and can see it was delivered but there is zero record in any SMTP, OWA, Message Tracking or any related log of this message existing.
How in the world is this possible? I see the message was delivered but there is no proof, no gap in the log files and no security breaches.
Any ideas as to why the email didn’t appear in the user?s office Outlook until after they synched their home Outlook and why there is no record (besides the actual email) that this even exists?
Exchange 2003
Office box is XP Pro SP3 Outlook 2007
Home box is XP Pro SP3 Outlook 2007 connected via RPC over HTTPS
Cheers,
