Email marketing and analysis

I currently send emails directly from outlook however have no method of analyzing open rates, link click rates etc. Their seems to be a host of program mes you can buy or subscribe to. We are a small company and want the most cost effective method with the best detail so we can tailor or change our marketing message any advice on the best option?
