i am working in a Chinese company and i am in charge of finding an erp software for our company.
We are a factory who produce lighting equipment. (Small / medium business).
The managing director of the company want to develop by ourself the erp !
A short description of our workflow:
At this time, we have our customer service located 1000 km far from the factory.
What they want:
1/ The customer service input their Purchase order in their database.
2/ Our suplly chain team receive the purchase order automatically in the erp (1000km far from the customer service)
3/ The supply chain can generate purchase order automatically to order components close to the suppliers, this according to the bill of materials.
4/ Then the supply chain lunch the production order to the production line (50 km far from the supply chain).
They want an erp with web access of the datas.
They want to give the developpement of this erp to a small consulting company. I saw the guy, he never develop a such software with web access before.
What do you thinks of this ?
For my point of view:
– Build an erp by ourself is not a good thing.
– We will experiment further problem.
– An custom erp is not a good thing to develop the company.
