error ie can’t open web page

opening an archived filed from a web site to play in media play get error message ie can’t open web page.
vista with sp1 media player 11.
this is ane-stream file to be played
if i change to firefox it works ok
tried this with ie7 and ie8
windows 7 and ie8 working ok
xp and ie7 or ie8 working ok
