Event Log Reader and Visual Basic. . .

Hi:
I’m sure there are hundreds out there, but I would like to design a simple Event Log reader using visual basic…..Basically, I want it to be able to monitor/read the NT logs, and alert when a new event is added. What components will i needto enable? Is there some sample code to get me started, i.e. hooking into the event log? I am I guess, a novice-intermediate programmer, and usually can keep developing once I have a good starting point….Any help, advice, code, direction is muchappreciated asap…TIA!
