Excell Date Formatting

by tallpaul003 . Updated 14 years, 5 months ago

Hi Chaps and Chapettes

Here’s one for you. Our Accounts girl is adamant she used to type dates into excel just as numbers and it would auto format the “/” in between. She tells me it no longer does it and therefore her computer has gremlins !!!

For example:-
For todays date, 24/01/2012, she would just type 240112 and it would automatically format to 24/01/2012.

I’ve tried to recreate and been through all the formating options I can find but cannot recreate it. I’ve never seen it but that’s not to say it doesn’t exist.

Anyone care to prove/disprove the theory?? And if so, I will gladly stand corrected but am struggling with this.

Many thanks
Paul
