Exchange log cleanup

Our boot partition runs out of storage with too many EDBxxx.logs and Exchange stops working. Having trouble running the EDBUTIL.exe tool to cleanup the Exchange database logs.
We shutdown all Exchange services and then from a DOS prompt run the tool with various switches (/ispriv, etc.) But the files never get cleaned up and there is invalid command error message. Can anybody assist?
