Exchange server and garbage in headers

by todd . Updated 26 years ago

I am running exchange server version 5.5, and when-ever an email goes out to the internet to a non-exchange email server, the message gets some garbage in the header. Most email servers will ignore this garbage, but some will reject the email stating incorrect header.
Has anyone heard of this, or have any suggestions on fixing?
here is an example:

x-recipient:
Received: from mail.domain.com [192.168.0.1] by domain.net (FTGate 2, 2, 2, 1);
