Exmerge not working

just installed exchange5.5 onto new machine,new drives everything.
set it up to join site, all is ok.
ported mailboxes over (only a few) ran exmerge and it fails.
The primary server also does not work,and never has. Also i cannot run isinteg either.
the first time i ran it it found errors on db, then server crapped out.
The primary server still has the main boxes on it and thats why i put together another server, to export all boxes to it till i rebuild first one.
Since exmerge doesnt run on this new install with exch SP3 and NT sp5 Did the corrupted db also port anything over ???
