Explorer error at login

When loggin on to 2000 Pro (SP4) the system stops and gives me a Eplorer error, same when logging into safemode under the users name.
I can log into Administrator acount in safe mode.
I created a new user and it logs in fine.
No virus was found but lots of adware/spyware, was found.
I was getting the same when logging into Administrator , until I removed some registry settings in safe mode. Had to hand remove Wintools
by hooking hard drive in to a recovery system I have in shop, Wintools is very hard to remove no matter what you use or do.

But my main question is is there a way to repair a user profile when getting a Explorer error?
