Exporting MS Outlook 2000 to MS Outlook 2010

I have exported files from MS Office 2000 Outlook to PST file. When I try to Import to MS Office 2010 Pro Outlook, it will not import. Any ideas to get this done. This customer can’t afford to lose all her data from her old machine.
