f32 errors

scandisk and defrag on w98se report no errors, but norton 2000 pro locks up when i try to defrag or use disk doctor to repair the errors being reported by windoctor! I have the latest upgrades to w98se and norton system works 2000 pro . I used a w98se boot disk to format and fdisk the drives to f32. Very strange that the cheaper versions of nortons software ie: scandisk and defrag report no errors but the more costly versions lock up!
