Firefox Bookmarks dilemma

I have a friend who had a laptop whose motherboard died. The hard disk was fine, so I plugged it into another computer to get the files out. The friend just bought a new computer, which I will transfer the files to. Unfortunately, Firefox has to store its bookmark files in some obscure hard-to-fine file that isn’t so great when you can’t actually run Firefox.

Can anyone tell me how to get the bookmarks out?
