ok let’s get the equipment out of the way first..
I’m using a 2.4 GHz 802.11b wireless usb network adapter.
it is connect to a linksys 2.4 Ghz 802.11 wireless router.
and the router is connected to a modem with this model number: U1OCO18
running on Windows Media Edition
(if i need to be more specific please let me know)

programs that it WILL NOT connect to at all.
-Internet Explorer
-Aim
-Ventrillo
-Counter-Strike
-World of Warcraft
Programs that it connects to fine.
-Firefox (i am able to browse fine)
-Limewire (i can search/DL from here fine)

when under CMD:
i have run Ipconfig /renew, and a 192 ip comes up.. so i am definately connected.. i have tried to Ping different sites and they come back with 4 replies everytime.. but when i try any online program besides firefox or lime wire
it will not work
i need some help here.. someone please tell me whats going on
