Hi
I would like to know if it is possible to set quotas on the amount of space each user is allowed on a *folder* basis. I understand Disk Quotas can help limit the amount of data a user is alloweed to write, but by definition this appears to apply to the whole partition.
My situation is this: I have about 50 users who have been allocated personal folders for their own private use. I ask the users to keep their private data under 100MB, but some are abusing this limit, with 2 users going past 1GB!!!!
So, what I would like to do is apply an enforcable 100MB limit using something like Disk Quotas. The personal folders are on a Windows 2003 Standard Edition Server. I cannot see anything built into the OS, so was wondering if anyone knows of a reliable utility that will help me control these resource hogs. I would like to be able to have the ability to prevent a user writing to their personal folder until it is below the 100MB limit.
Permissions are not important as everyone’s folders are open to everyone else.
Does anyone know of a good program that can help me?
Thanks in advance…
