Forgot pin and password windows 10

Hi all. So my friend has asked me to try and sort out his step dads PC who sadly passed away as he wants to use it for his office. Their are pictures of him and their family on it so a fresh windows install is a last resort as they’ll lose everything. His step dad had a password and pin number (I think it’s windows 10) and they dont know what they are. They’ve give me a few of what it could be like their pet dog etc but to no avail therefore i can’t get into the computer. I’ve built my own PC’s before so i like to think i know what I’m doing but when it comes to anything like this, I’m useless. Is their any way of getting access into his computer? TIA
