found new hardware RC15

i have a new kano tech 240 gig external usb2 mirror raid box.. when i plug it in i’m getting found new hardware rc15 and the auto install screens only there is no software to install according to kano.. their tech spt is scratching their heads they are saying that there is no software to install.. ??? anyone else had this happen,, my gut feel is that the unit firmware is defective..
