Free solution?

I just discovered I have a Stealth virus, but I won’t have any money for a few weeks. I am concerned, as last time, I had to reformat. Don’t like that. Is there anything I can do beside not use computer? W98 SE, large HD, maxed RAM. Firefox. Sure would appreciate any help. D
