Fuzzy monitor

A user has a CTX 19″ monitor that has gone fuzzy. Tested on various systems confirms that the monitor is at falt. All the monitor built-in settings are correct. I seem to remember this being a problem on an old tv, and the fix was something like de-magnetizing the flyback transformer coils. My question is: Is this known to be fixable or should I just get a new monitor?
