Getting XML report from Crystal Reports

We are going to develop our database project using SQL Server 2000. So, we want to put some of our reports on the web.
First, which method should we follow to do that.
Second, If we want to get our XML files from our reports generated by CrystalReports, what should we do ? Is it better to get our XML directly from database ?
