I’ve been using Relayfax at our small office and it’s worked ok for the most part.
However, it seems too harsh on fax standards “chatter” between devices and it bounces off alot of legitimate faxes and doesn’t work when sending to some fax machines. The same goes for the Black Ice fax engine we can use with it. Weird thing is that the incompatible fax machines change when using Black Ice or their own fax engine!
The route-by-OCR capability has really become part of our daily life and we couldn’t live without it. The fax to e-mail transition is also a really nice additon.
Has anybody used a good fax software that doesn’t require a fax board and is compatible with less strict fax standard implementation and supports OCR routing to mail users ?
Freeware is even better but we certainly don’t mind paying for a good reliable software. I’m much more interested in knowing what you guys have used for a similar usage scenario that worked well.
