Hardware configuration : Win95/98

I have a laptop/docking station setup running Win98 logging onto a NT4 domain which works fine in situ.(During connection a logon script is run from the server that auto updates anti-virus software and maps drives for ERP databases). How do I stop the machine looking for domain validation when its used out of the docking station in a remote situation. Hitting “esc” at the logon just gives an error of “could not validate user name/password on the domain”. Someone please help, this is driving me crazy!!!
