My boss wants to develop WSH scripting to:
1. Install all apps on all servers on a large, shared EMC Raid array
2. Capture the registry (etc) for all servers on the EMC
3. Keep an extra plain-vanilla NT server on line
4. In the event of failure, run a script to
a. Shut down the failed machine (if still on line)
b. Graft the failed machine’s registry parts from the stash on the EMC onto the spare machine’s
c. Reboot the spare machine with the apps, SID, etc of the failed machine
Has anybody ever seen anything like this, either as home-brew (free or paid) or 3rd party? Fully automated or with intervention (preferably with no hands-on, these are remote machines)?
Does anybody have any ideas of how to go about this? Any code snippetts that may apply?
Thanks
