help!!!

i bought a hard disk off f—in e-bay because im a cheap *** and its password protected. I cant get any help from the seller.The computer is a dell latitude C600 -IBM Travelstar 20.gig. could anyone offer me some ideas on how to get aroud the password.I dont want any files off of it I just want to wipe it and reinstall my op. system
