“HELP” CAN’T CONNECT USING NOVELL CLIENT

I have installed a new server with novell 5.1 I need to migrate data from a 3.2 server however, I can not connect to the 5.1 server with the novell client for win 98 it will see the tree and server but says it is not available. I can login using microsoft client for netware but can not run the migration program or nwadmin without novell client. Could it be a problem with the NDS?Please help.
