How do I FIND a checkbox field in MS Word?

I have data in which a blank check-box field is the delimiter. I want to do a plain Find and Replace to remove it and put in a paragraph code (^p). I have searched from a number of angles–what I see with an Excel =LEN function IS indeed one character. I don’t see it listed in Field Codes–it is a high ASCII, or Unicode number? Can one place such, when determined, into the “Find” box?
