How do I take a screenshot on my Dell Laptop?

I have a Dell laptop and I need to take screenshots on the same. Now, I know I can use Print Screen or some of the other free apps to get it done. Do you guys recommend any tool (free or paid) that you recommend for advanced editing? Because the nature of my work requires me to annotate the screenshots at times and to do it using free apps or Paint is not very easy. I did go through some links online (link removed by moderator) but all of them recommend free apps or Windows Snipping tool. I was wondering if there are any better tools? I have heard about Snagit but haven’t tried it yet.
