How do you check if your PC has a hardware bottleneck?

I’ve been dealing with some performance issues on my Windows desktop and it got me thinking: what’s the best way to check for hardware bottlenecks (CPU/GPU mismatches, RAM limitations, etc.)?

Some people recommend monitoring tools like HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner to track usage percentages, while others suggest stress testing with benchmarks.

Personally, I recently tried a simple PC bottleneck calculator online that gave me an overview of whether my GPU might be throttled by my CPU. It wasn’t 100% precise, but it helped me figure out if my upgrade path should start with the GPU or CPU.

👉 Curious — what tools or methods do you all use to detect bottlenecks before upgrading? Do you trust monitoring software, online calculators, or just rely on benchmarking?
