How do you deal with Win2000 Registry?

I program in VB6.0. Had no problems with Windows 98. I have upgraded to Windows 2000 Pro. The API’s that I used for 98 don’t seem to work in 2000. There is a .dll available, but I can’t make that work either. How can you programmically manipulate the registry in Windows 2000?
