I heard the title’s mental exercise referenced on a radio show yesterday, so I thought I’d bring it up. As you’ll see I’m pretty hard to beat at this game.
If not familiar, scroogle up “seven degrees of Kevin Bacon,” you’ll find a lot.
Basically the theory goes everyone can get themselves to Kevin Bacon in seven steps or less, via people you know, and others they know and so on, leading to a person directly associated with Mr. Bacon himself.
When calculating you do not count yourself or Bacon, only the steps between the two of you.
If anyone gives a hoot, or you’re bored out of your mind, or by chance Kevin Bacon is your first cousin… by all means let’s hear your ‘degrees.’ How do you get there and in how many steps?
I believe the ‘theory’ is true, that no matter what, everyone has their shortest path and it’s going to be less than 7 ‘degrees.’
I’ll go first:
My half sister (we share a mother, alas sis passed away in 2005) is first cousins with Ed Harris, the actor.
